Sector Analysis

Sector Analysis is the study of how numbers are arranged around the roulette wheel.

Unlike the betting layout, the numbers on a European roulette wheel are not placed in numerical order.

Instead, they are distributed according to a carefully designed sequence intended to balance high and low numbers, odd and even numbers, and red and black numbers.

Understanding wheel sectors is an important part of advanced roulette analysis.

## Why Wheel Position Matters

Many beginners focus only on the betting table.

However, experienced roulette players often pay close attention to the wheel itself.

Numbers that appear far apart on the betting layout may actually be neighbors on the wheel.

Likewise, numbers that appear close together on the table may be located on opposite sides of the wheel.

## The Three Major Sectors

European roulette traditionally divides the wheel into three major sectors:

### Voisins du Zéro

Meaning:

"Neighbors of Zero"

This sector surrounds the green zero and contains 17 numbers.

It is the largest and most frequently discussed wheel sector.

Numbers include:

22, 18, 29, 7, 28, 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32, 15, 19, 4, 21, 2 and 25.

### Tiers du Cylindre

Meaning:

"Third of the Wheel"

This sector covers 12 numbers located opposite the zero sector.

Numbers include:

27, 13, 36, 11, 30, 8, 23, 10, 5, 24, 16 and 33.

### Orphelins

Meaning:

"Orphans"

These are the numbers not included in either Voisins du Zéro or Tiers du Cylindre.

Numbers include:

1, 20, 14, 31, 9, 17, 34 and 6.

## Why Sector Analysis Is Used

Some players prefer to think in wheel sectors rather than individual numbers.

Reasons include:

• Wheel observation
• Sector betting
• Dealer Signature research
• Wheel Bias analysis
• Pattern tracking

Sector-based approaches focus on groups of neighboring numbers rather than isolated outcomes.

## Sector Analysis and Probability

Sector analysis does not change probability.

Each individual number still has a probability of:

1 / 37

or

2.70%

The wheel does not favor sectors under normal conditions.

Sector analysis is primarily a way of organizing and interpreting observations.

## Historical Significance

Sector betting has been popular in European casinos for generations.

Many traditional French roulette bets are based directly on wheel sectors rather than betting-table positions.

This is one reason why sector analysis remains an important topic in roulette research.

## Why This Matters

Understanding wheel sectors helps players see roulette from a different perspective.

Instead of focusing solely on individual numbers, players learn to analyze the physical structure of the wheel itself.

At Roulette Intelligence, sector analysis serves as a bridge between mathematics, wheel mechanics and historical roulette practice.
