Types of Bets

Lesson 4 of 12

Roulette bets are divided into two main categories:

• Inside Bets
• Outside Bets

Inside bets are placed directly on specific numbers or groups of numbers on the betting layout.

Examples:

• Straight Up (single number)
• Split (two numbers)
• Street (three numbers)
• Corner (four numbers)
• Six Line (six numbers)

Outside bets cover larger groups of numbers and offer higher winning probabilities.

Examples:

• Red / Black
• Odd / Even
• High / Low
• Dozens
• Columns

The higher the probability of winning, the lower the payout.

Key Facts

• Inside bets = higher payouts
• Outside bets = higher hit rate
• Every roulette bet has a mathematical expectation
